Comrade Data Analysis and Collection explained

With Comrade, you enjoy direct payments from brands that reach out to you with relevant product recommendations at the right time. Comrade doesn’t need to hold onto your data to work. Product recommendations are delivered based on your real-time browsing activity. Any data that doesn’t result in a delivered or visited product recommendation is discarded.

This page explains Comrade’s transparent data analysis and collection policy.

Comrade does not collect data but rather, analyzes activity to match relevant product recommendations – storing only that activity that results in a match. This data is used to reward you and to offer anonymized statistics to brands.

URL Data Analysis

When you browse the internet, pages visited are sent to Comrade’s servers for analysis. Analysis of URLs is carried out as follows:

1. You visits a webpage
2. The webpage URL is sent back to Comrade’s servers for analysis.
3. If the URL does not deliver a product recommendation to you, it is discarded.
4. If the URL delivers a product recommendation to you, it is saved anonymously for the brand to understand which URL delivered the offer.

Essentially, only URLs that deliver a product recommendation to you are anonymously saved. This is important for Comrade to issue your reward and for brands to understand how their product recommendations are performing. All other URLs (which make up most of your browsing activity) are not stored, shared, or sold. They are discarded.

Keyword Data Analysis

When you search on a search engine, the keyword is sent back to Comrade’s servers for analysis. Analysis of Keywords are as follows:

1. You search on a search engine
2. The keyword is sent back to Comrade’s servers for analysis.
3. If the Keyword does not deliver a product recommendation to you, the keyword is discarded.
4. If the Keyword delivers a product recommendation to you, it is saved anonymously for the brand to understand which keyword delivered the offer.

Once again, only keywords that deliver a product recommendation to you are anonymously saved. This is important for Comrade to issue your reward and for brands to understand how their product recommendations are performing. All other keywords (which make up most of your browsing activity) are not stored, shared, or sold. They are discarded.

Anonymized Statistical Data

The anonymized statistical data accessible to brands consist of the following:

User ID:
A unique 32-character anonymized ID.
Example: b77cc412bb1041855521f102e4838169

Keyword or URL:
The keyword or URL that delivered the Ad to you.
Example: best tv subscription service

City:
The city you set in your account profile.
Example: Washington DC

Age:
Determined from your date of birth set in your account profile.
Example: 26

Gender:
The gender you set in your account profile.
Example: Female

Comrade makes this data available to brands. Brands can only see the following when a product recommendation is delivered to you:

The above data helps brands ensure that product recommendations are delivered to the right audience, while keeping your identity highly anonymous.
